From another project (pictures to came) there was about one ball of yarn left. Girly colours.
What would be more obvious than knitting something for the girl of the household?
You are right - nothing!
Girly Halter
Great ideas don't always work out equally good. You can see that here - my daughter thinks it's too short and it is always puckering at the top towards the center being not soo tasteful then.
Meanwhile I did two "corrections" - I added a flared edging at the bottom and found another way to attach the neck strap, but that isn't completely finished yet.
I also made a second edition of the top, which will hopefully work out better.
She is lucky I didn't call the police but only yelled at her.
My son looked left and right before crossing - she wasn't visible at that moment (I stood right next him). If he had been only 1 m farther onto the crossing, she would have hit him. My hands are still shaking if I only thing about it. Some people definitily should not be permitted to drive: the street is not good to overlook there, speed limit is 30 km/h / 18 mph (I'm sure she was speeding), it's a zebra crossing, it's next to a school and she was local (given the number plate).
Sometimes I have little attacks of crochet frenzy - very convinient when there is a pattern just around that moment. Even more convinient when I find a matching yarn in my stash.

The phrase "matching yarn" isn't to take too literal. It is matching insofar it is great for crocheting (I can really recommend this yarn!) and I had a sufficient amount in my stash. Gauge was way off, but who thinks that's important?
Look at the crochet pieces from this blog. I don't have the slightest idea what she writes, but those pictures speak without words. I don't know what I should adore more: the patience or the phantasy.
For some time I'm spindeling on a kilogramm of Space from Wollknoll. Eventually the first spindle was full or better one rapport of the roving was worked. This is the single put in a ball and waiting to be plied (navajo). I find those colours just amazing.
Meanwhile everything is plied, the skein is washed and hangs to dry. I'm really looking forward on how it looks then.
Yesterday I had a long phone call with my sister-in-law.
Beyond others she praised extensive how much she loves her new hotpads. Those are the best she ever had. Thick enough so she doesn't get burned fingers, large enough to cover the hands even when carrying a casserole, no holes, so soft so she has a good feeling for what she is carrying. Her sister envys her for those great hotpads.
Wow - that's when giving hand knitted presents really is fun.
PS: My SIL is knitting herself and appreciates handmade gifts anyway.
