All is well that ends well.

It has bin quite some time since I knitted a sweater for my partner. The yarn is in my stash since February 2007. High time, to eventually start the sweater. And suddenly everything went very fast.

The last project I finished in 2007.

Usually I don't get into this "dust catcher" stuff too much, but when I first saw this cute ocotpus I just couldn't resist making one. Luckily I have two children ... By the way, this one was caught by my daughter, which made my son immediately demanding his own.

And as I was on my way blocking lace - Muir was waiting for it, too. I finished knitting just before christmas (which I didn't expect, but nearing the end it suddenly was a fast knit).

I think it turned out just beautiful - pattern and colour are going together so well.

All's well that ends well.

I finished the stole in early September and it has been laying around since then before I got around blocking it finally. Somebody gave me the idea to get some rods in the hardware store and that tip was just great. Now I need some long pins and I'm perfectly equipped for more lace projects.

Mystery Stole 3 - Swan Lake

All in all I'm very content with the final outcome of this stole - also, and just because of it's unusual combination. What I'll do finally with this stole I don't yet know. On the one hand I'd like to keep it for myself, but doing so would leaf it to a life on the shelf. I'm not the type for wearing clothing like that and besides this I don't have many occasions to wear them anyway.

A few projects from last year are still missing. I'm starting out with the Rib Tunic after a pattern from Drops.

Rib Tunic

The first long sweater since sometime in the 90ies. It was rather uncommon to work so many cm before starting the armholes and I was very unsure, if I really like it. But cutting was always an option.

To my big astonishment I really do like the way this sweater looks and with a slight modifications it's a great pattern.

A pink sparkling cap - perfect for little girls.

This cap has bin on my "wish list" for quite some time, but I had nobody to wear it, as I myself hardly ever wear caps. And my partner wouldn't have worn it (even without the beads, I'm very sure).

It's great to have a little girl on occasions like this.

But there are alternatives. This way the fingers are still moveable and sensitive and yet there is a little warmth.

I'm not going to wear the to the opera house, as the pattern suggests. Mainly because I can hardly remember having been there.

Because the colourway of the yarn remindes me of the "Palace of the Winds", which is called Hawa Mahal in India, I chose this name.

The rather busy patterning would eat up nearly any stitch pattern I chose only a very simple lace stitch.
